information:  "Victor changed the name of the Challenger to the Esquire in 1940 and then to the model V in 1941.  During its Esquire incarnation it lost its four feet, however, there was no change in the machine when it became the model V.  The prewar model was cast iron and postwar models were made of different alloys and were 5 lbs. lighter.  Cylindrical globes were the first type used followed by the square globe or the durable steel cabinet with a plastic front."
