information: A Scarlet Macaw parrot became the mascot for a line of children’s shoes known as Poll Parrot Shoes for boys and girls. The creator Paul Parrot once had a live parrot in shoe store much to the delight of his young customers. In 1922 he sold out to Robert, Johnson & Rand Shoe Company, last known as International Shoe Co. (ISC), St. Louis, Missouri. ISC also manufactured two additional popular children’s shoe brands: Red Goose and Weatherbird shoes for children.
